Inactivity of Law-Enforcement Bodies Is Being Appealed
artakz.jpgIn April 2010 Artak Zeynalyan, the assignees’ representative of 9 victims of the events of March 1, 2008 applied to Court with a claim to terminate the inactivity of the Special Investigation Service (SIS). Artak Zeynalyan claims that the SIS did not do anything to reveal the death circumstances of those 9 victims.

np1.jpgOn December 27, 2009 Vahagn Gevorgyan, Sergey Gasparyan, Tevos Matevosyan, Sahak Muradyan and Sargis Gevorgyan, activists of pre-election headquarter of Nikol Pashinyan ( he is a candidate for an election of an MP from No. 10 constituency of Yerevan)  were beaten at Vardanats 5a address. A group of 20-30 people with iron bars and brass-knuckles attacked and harshly beat the young activists causing physical injuries.

Tigran Arakelyan who was accused of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Armenia (Hooliganism) has been in prison for 3 months. Now he is accused of Article 316, part 3 of the Criminal Code of Armenia (Dangerous abuses towards the law enforcement bodies), which provides up to 10 years of imprisonment.

The Activist of the Armenian National Congress Tigran Arakelyan was Arrested Print E-mail

On July 05, 2009 Tigran Arakelyan, the activist of the Armenian National Congress’s youth wing was arrested. He was called to the Police Department of Kentron district as a witness, and then he was detained as a suspect. T. Arakelyan is accused of beating a police officer. He was taken under detention for two months.

They had been chased and then several men attacked the women and threw stones at them. 3 women had been hospitalized as they were injured
