On March 14th 2011, at 09:20 at the Papazian-Kochar crossroads an Armenian National Congress activist, Artashes Sardaryan, was brought to the Arabkir police department from his shop. When Sardaryan demanded they show an arrest warrant, police officers physically forced his arms up his back and took him to the police department.
In the police department Sardaryan was ordered not to participate in organised ANC meetings and activities
Sardaryan rejected these requirements and was then threatened by police officers who said they would plant narcotics in his shop and that he would die in prison. Sardaryan was released after having been detained at the police department for 2 hours. This is the second occasion in the last month where Artashes Sardaryan has been taken to the Arabkir police department and ordered not to participate in opposition rallies.
