On September 25, 2009 the trial of Gegham Grigoryan and Andranik Manukyan, policemen of the Police Department of Yerevan started. They are accused of Article 309, part 2 of the Criminal Code of Armenia (Abuse of Power). They abused two citizens who were near the Market of Mashtots Avenue on March 1, 2008. The judge to the case is G. Avetisyan, the prosecutor is A. Nadoyan. At the dawn of the trial the judge told the defendants about their rights.
It’s worth mentioning that there were not any victims and the witnesses were police servicemen.
